Meisen Kimono with Water and Wagon Wheel Motif

Meisen 銘仙 kimono.  Meisen pieces have stencil dyed threads before the weaving process which gives the pattern a hazy edge. This process allowed for the use of silk that previously would have been discarded due to imperfection, bringing higher quality silk kimono to people at an accessible cost.
